1.
All students,
part time and full time, enrolled in Bayan College shall
behave in a manner that promotes an academic environment
that is safe and conducive to learning;
2. Students
will demonstrate honesty and trustworthiness;
3. Students
will treat others with respect, use good manners and be
considerate of the feelings of others;
4. Students
will demonstrate responsibility, use self-control and be
self-disciplined;
5. Students
will demonstrate good citizenship by obeying laws and rules,
and by cooperating with others;
6. Students
will respect the rights, privileges and property of others;
7. Students
will treat all College staff, students and visitors with
respect and consideration;
8. Students
will comply with standards
of academic and professional honesty and integrity;
9. Students
will dress in an appropriate manner that reflects
sensitivity to local customs and traditions;
10.
Students
will take responsibility for their own learning by fully
engaging in the learning process.
11.
Students
will attend all lectures and arrive in time for classes.
12.
Students
will comply with all rules, regulations, procedures,
policies and standards of conduct of the College.
13.
Students
must not engage in any of following:

Plagiarizing
is the act of downloading a text from the internet,
rewriting a paragraph from a book or an article, or
using another person’s words, ideas, writing, and
representing them as your own work and/or ideas
without appropriately citing that person in
order to obtain credit or a grade for an academic
work.

Cheating
is the act of obtaining or attempting to obtain
credit for an academic work by dishonest means which
include, but is not limited to:
-
Consulting notes,
books, or any course materials during quizzes,
tests, or examinations which have not been
authorized by the relevant instructor.

Copying another
person’s
answer(s) to an
examination question(s).
-
Consulting
electronic devices during an examination without
obtaining an authorization from the relevant
instructor.
-
Helping another
student during examination(s).
-
Submitting as one’s
own work an examination, a research paper, a
project, or a presentation in part or whole
which has been stolen, or borrowed.
-
Employing a
substitute to take an examination, write a
paper, or work on a presentation, in part or
wholly.
-
Submitting a work
that has been done for one class to a second
class without informing the instructor of the
second class and getting her/his consent.
-
Changing academic
record, falsifying transcript, grades, or
attendance roster.
-
Disruptive Classroom Conduct.
Disruptive classroom conduct means engaging in
behavior that interrupts either the teacher's
ability to teach or students to learn.

Disruptive
Office Conduct: Disruptive office conduct means
engaging in behavior that interrupts the staff’s
ability to work.

Falsification.
Falsification means willfully providing the college
with false, misleading, or incomplete information;
forging or altering official college records or
documents.

Disorderly
Conduct on College Premises: Disorderly Conduct
on College Premises means engaging in conduct that
obstructs or disrupts teaching, and administrative
functions.

Theft, Property Damage, and
Vandalism. Theft,
property damage, and vandalism include theft, damage
to, destruction of property belonging to the
college, or a member of the college.

Any of the
following disciplinary actions may be used as
appropriate in response to a violation of the
student code of conduct:

Warning:
A warning means the issuance of an oral or
written warning or reprimand.
-
Grade
Reduction: grade reductions on an assignment
or an exam with the possibility of a maximum
grade of 70%.
-
Failing
grade: a failing grade may be allocated to
an assignment or a course.
-
Limitations on access & activities:
limitations on access & activities mean
prohibition from participation in certain
activities or facilities on the college
premises.
-
Restitution: Restitution is compensation
required of students who engage in theft,
misuse, damage, or destruction of college
property.
-
Suspension:
Suspension from the college means the exclusion
of the student from participation in any
academic or other activity for a specified
period of time. Suspension may be for the
remainder of the semester. Suspended students
must apply for readmission.

Expulsion:
Expulsion is the most serious college
disciplinary action. It means the permanent
exclusion of the student from the college.
MISCELLANEOUS STUDENT RULES
-
Mobile
Phone In order to maintain an appropriate educational
environment, students shall disable their mobile phones,
in class sessions, computer laboratory session, and in
administrative offices.

Veils In order to maintain a safe academic atmosphere for faculty
and students, the college bans face veils (Burqaa, Niqaab)
on college premises including, but not limited to offices,
classrooms, computer labs, and all college facilities.
Every time a violation of this policy is reported, the
student will be promptly denied access to the college unless
the face is visible.

Bulletin
Boards
In order to maintain an appropriate look of our
building, any notice must be posted on the appropriate
bulletin board.
The administrative staff may remove any notice posted on
doors or walls or not bearing the College stamp.
Please ask the Dean’s secretary to date and approve your
notice before posting it, so it will not be removed by
the administrative staff.
